Dress CodeAll Nulla persons must wear the appropriate motorcycle riding clothing on all rides. We must do our utmost to maintain the look of "complete biker trash" whilst on our rides. Designer clothing must be left at home, and never worn on a ride, especially when out of our own state. "Colours" must be worn proudly on all official Nullaboy rides & functions.
Short Distance Rides ….. maximum 1000kmsWhen riding with other clubs, or participating in multi club rides like the Toy Run rides, remember, we are The Nullaboys, and we ride TOGETHER. We do not get split up in the pack, but ride as a group within the pack. We are our own club, and we are to be treated as such. We may socialise with the other members on the organising run, but we arrive as a group, eat as a group, drink as a group and we leave as a group.
Long DistanceAll Nulla persons are required to have a tin cup attached to the outside of the motorcycle during the ride. These drinking utensils are not to be scrubbed at anytime during a run. Rinsing is acceptable, but definitely no fingers allowed. Men's hair to be cut with a maximum of a No: 2 cut prior to departure. Beards and moustaches can be of any length and / or shape. Nullagirls are naturally exempted from this rule, but if they reckon they can grow it, they are welcome to follow this rule if they wish too. Nullaboys / Nullagirls signs are to be affixed somewhere visible on the motorcycle for the duration of the trip.
BehaviourAll Nulla persons are exempted from their normal "Mr Nice Guy" at home type status. Animalistic behaviour is encouraged, and recommended, but certainly not demanded. Letting of one's hair down will be tolerated so far as the rest of the group is not forced to engage in sexual acts with animals, bail you out of jail or enter into, or break up, a fight with the general public or members of an outlaw motorcycle gang. Always remember that we are out to have a lot of good fun, and that an apology and an embarrassing back-down is better than being beaten to death by total strangers. Also, remember that it is very difficult to ride home with severe bruising, weeping sores, scars and broken bones. "Carpet burns" are acceptable, and sometimes a necessary part of riding long distances. The most common cause of this type of burn is from clothing that flaps in the wind at high speed. Remember this in case questioned and don't lie about where they came from because the rest of us don't want to know. Because if we don't know, we don't have to answer embarrassing questions and then put everybody else in the shit too. Carpet burns are caused by wind, please remember that…
Riding EtiquetteWe must always obey the road rules of the state, [ within reason ] but especially when we believe that we may get caught and severely punished for our lack of observation and consequent stupidity. A Nulla person should always ride to his / her ability, and never ride in a manner that may cause pain and injury especially to themselves and occasionally, the general public. However, this rule is null and void when riding home from the Gothic in Adelaide after a big lunch. Riding dangerously is never a smart thing to do, but sometimes playing "Catch me if you can " in the peak-hour traffic is great fun. Not recommended, but really, really great fun.
High Speed UnloadingIt is not polite nor is it recommended to allow your belongings in the form of saddlebags, tent, cup, or other items to leave the motorcycle, either on their own or accompanied by the rider, and especially at high speeds. The dragging of tenting equipment from the rear of your motorcycle is to be frowned upon as it takes to long to find all the bits again. "Johno style Drag Chutes" are not to be attached to your motorcycle, either temporarily or permanently.
Spending SpreesOnly one thing to remember here. That is, if you buy it, can you carry it on the bike, or make arrangements to get it home. Excessive spending is at your cost, and you had better make sure it can fit on your bike. It is not advisable to purchase things like new exhaust systems and other large items as sometimes you have to carry them a long way home. |
